WebDec 5, 2010 · 2015. Posted November 15, 2010. In a modern 3D CAD program, like Autodesk Inventor, you could select all 49 edges with one click of Loop. In AutoCAD if that was simplified with lines and tangent arcs, instead of all of those little facets, you could use the Fillet with Chain option. WebJan 8, 2010 · At one time AutoCAD did not have a Loft command - so some complex surfacing techniques would need to be used. Can't trim a surface in AutoCAD - break the surface down smaller elements. Can't make a general statement that it can't be done - but becomes either not possible or so difficult as to become not worth the effort.

Every side and corner can be filleted with radius 25 and 9.525 respectively, except for that one side. I cannot use chain to select all sides because no side would be filleted. The object is just a part of a furniture. It's supposed to be a piece of wood.

Most times the failure happens when an edge has been picked and then the chain option selected to allow multiple edges to be filleted at the same time. Other times the failure happens when multiple edges are selected and there is an edge which changes in the z direction.

This makes it difficult to predict what will happen when you try to apply fillets or chamfers and in some cases it's just not possible. That's not to say that it won't work with kinks, often it does. When it doesn't work however, non-tangent conditions are usually the culprit.
