Webb1 aug. 2024 · Of particular concern is some research indicating that extensive screen time may be associated with negative effects on social and language development and with “autistic-like” behaviors (see sources). It is my view that such effects could be compounded in people with ASD, who already struggle with social development. WebbPreviously, diagnoses like Asperger’s Syndrome and Childhood Disintegrative Disorder were used to describe individuals at the extreme ends of the autism spectrum. High-functioning autism and Asperger’s are not an official medical diagnosis, but rather unofficial terms used to describe individuals who have mild symptoms of autism.
